Q. How long does it take to design, fabricate, and install custom window treatments?
A. Most customs blinds can be installed within 2-3 weeks, Trio and shutters within 3-4 weeks, and specialty arches and shapes within 4-6 weeks.Custom window treatments can typically be completed within 6-8 weeks. On rare occurrences, if there is a back order on fabric or hardware, this can extend the completion time.
Q. Do you offer in-home consultations and is there a fee for this service?
A. Yes, we can come to your home for a design consultation where we will bring fabric books, hardware and blind choices, and design ideas. During the in-home consultation, we will assist you in making your choices, take window measurements, and follow up with an estimate. A low $75 fee applies for the in-home consultation and includes either a hand sketched or computer simulated design for pre-fabrication approval.You can also choose to pick your fabrics and designs in-store on your own with our assistance) and we will visit the home for a quick measure for no fee. Based on your choices we can give you an in-store estimate.If you only need blinds we will come to the home for free for a consultation, measure and an estimate.
Q. What type of blinds do you carry? A. Currently we only carry Hunter Douglas blinds. We believe in carrying only the best and their quality is outstanding. Hunter Douglas makes serveral types of blinds for your windows. Please see the "Hard Treatments" page for more information. Q. Is all the fabrication completed in your shop?
A. Yes, with the exception of some custom bedding and blinds. All work is done on-site for your convenience so you can check the status of your order or view it during the fabrication process. The custom blinds are made at the factory, NOT in our shop. Custom bedding with quilting is also sent to an off-site workroom. Q. Can you upholster or slip cover furniture?
A. Currently, we only upholster or slip cover small furnishings such as dinette chairs and ottomans. Please feel free to ask us during your consultation about other projects and we will evaluate the job and determine whether we can accommodate it.
Q. Will you travel out of the area?
A. We will typically travel within a 75 mile radius for the average job, but please tell us about your project and we may be able to make exceptions.
Q. How much does it cost to cover a window?
A. Each individual window and its coverings are unique, so there really is not an average cost for a window. To complete an estimate we need know the window dimensions, design, and fabric/trim/hardware options. A final estimate will be given once we verify window measurements in-home.
Q. Can we install blinds/window treatments on our own?
A. Yes, please review our installation policy (PDF Format). 
Q. Do you make more than just window treatments?
A. Yes, we can also design and make custom bedding, table ensembles, and home accents.
Q. What are your store hours?
A. Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. We also offer evening and weekend consultations by appointment.
Q. Do you accept credit cards?
A. Yes, we accept Discover, MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
Q. Do you offer financing?
A. No, not at this time. We hope to offer it in the near future.
Q. What do you need to place an order?
A. Several steps need to be taken before we begin the order to ensure both the client and our needs and expectations are met. Once the project estimate is reviewed and approved, a customer agreement for orders over $500 needs to be completed. A 50% deposit is required on all orders before fabrication begins. The remaining balance is due upon installation or pick up of product.

Q. Will you use a Client's Own Material (COM) to make my custom products?
A. Yes, please review our COM policy (PDF Format). 
Q. Do you carry ready made draperies or have stock of blinds or hardware?
A. No, everything we make for the client is custom and is purchased once an order is placed. This includes blinds and hardware. We can order any hardware and can usually get it to you within 3-5 days.
Q. Is there a solution for bay, bow, arch, angled, or large windows?
A. Yes, there is a solution for every window. For unique windows, it is best that we visit the home before we give you a design solution. We can then review your needs and determine what can be done with the specifications of the window.
Q. Do you cover windows that are not in residential homes?
A. Yes, we will also do work for commercial properties, boats or theatres.
Q. Do you have samples for viewing in your showroom?
A. Yes, we have samples that you can view up close for quality and construction. More samples are added periodically.
Q. What is the "Custom Advantage"?
A. Each window is unique as is each person's taste and decor. Therefore, it is nearly impossible to prefabricate window treatments or blinds that will be a perfect fit for your window. That is why prefabricated treatments are often ill-fitting and never look as nice on your windows as they do in the catalog from which you ordered them. When you choose to order custom window treatments you are getting a design that is chosen just for your unique windows. The treatment will fit perfectly in dimension and decor to your home. Also, you can guarantee that no other person will have the same window treatments that you have because your treatments were designed just for you. You pay for what you get and you'll get quality, originality, a perfect fit and many other custom advantages.
Q. Do you check out fabric and sample books to your clients?
A. Yes, we can check out our books to our clients, but as a courtesy to other clients, we must have the books returned within 48 hours.
Q. Can I get a fabric sample?
A. Yes, we can order you a swatch sample from the fabric company at no charge, or we can order you a cut yard for the cost of goods.
Q. Do you ever have sales?
A. Yes, we periodically offer sales and discounts. Please ask a sales associate what we can offer you on your next order.
